Following the final of EURO21 three black footballers were subject to a torrent of racist abuse on social media. Whatever their intent, the racists have only succeeded in provoking a massive outpouring of support for the footballers and exposed the hypocrisy of the government to scorn and derision.
The England team published this simple but powerful message on their twitter feed which prompted me to write this poem.
